La Masure is near a working farm, so be prepared to hear the lowing of cattle, the call of the local cockerel and the occasional movement of farm vehicles down the rear lane - there’s virtually no other traffic – as well as distant church bells early morning and evening.
Although the English owners are easy to contact the three immediately neighbouring families are all French. This is typical rural living right in the Norman bocage !

All this, plus garden seating for up to seven people and a large barbecue, provide lots of opportunities for relaxation for all.
La Masure consists of 6 houses on either side of a lane leading down to a farm. A settlement of this size is known as a Lieu Dit meaning that it’s smaller than a hamlet.
Our cottage is the first on the right heading down the lane. Its thick granite walls and supporting beams date from the middle of the nineteenth century, but its interior has been completely modernised with a fully fitted kitchen; two shower rooms; three WCs and a 21st. century wood burning stove set in the original hearth.
